Spherical roller bearings have two rows of symmetrical rollers. The outer ring has a common spherical raceway, and the inner ring has two raceways at an angle to the vertical axis of the bearing. The center of the outer ring spherical raceway is located on the bearing shaft.
Spherical roller bearings are self-aligning as are self-aligning ball bearings or CARB bearings.
Spherical roller bearings are well designed to withstand heavy axial loads in both directions in addition to high radial loads.
Rollers are manufactured using almost the same dimensional and geometric tolerances as roller sets. Symmetrical self-aligning rollers provide optimal load distribution along the roller length and special contours to prevent peak stresses at the roller ends.
Self-guiding rollers keep friction and frictional heat low. Floating guide rings guide the unloaded rollers so that they enter the loaded area in an optimal position.
All spherical roller bearings are equipped with strong window or double fork cages.
