Composed of radial needle roller bearings and thrust ball bearings
Delivered without inner ring
In applications where the shaft cannot be hardened and ground, the bearing should be used in conjunction with the inner ring
Can carry axial loads in one direction, so the shaft can only be positioned in one direction
Can be mounted back-to-back on short shafts and where changes in length due to thermal expansion are relatively small
For these types of configurations, cup spring preloading of thrust ball bearings is recommended. If one of the thrust bearings is unloaded, preload can help prevent the ball from slipping. Preloading also improves thrust ball bearing performance and reduces noise levels.
