Combined needle roller bearings are composed of radial needle roller bearings and thrust bearings. They can withstand both radial and axial loads. Combined needle roller bearings are particularly suitable in applications where other types of locating end bearing arrangements take up too much space or where the axial loads are too heavy, the rotational speeds are too high or bearing arrangements with simple thrust washers are insufficiently lubricated. Combined needle roller bearings are offered in the following basic designs:
Needle roller/angular contact ball bearings
Needle roller/thrust ball bearing
Needle roller/cylindrical roller thrust bearing
Relubrication intervals for the radial and axial components of the bearing must be calculated separately. The shorter of the two intervals shall prevail.
Carrying combined radial and axial loads in one or two directions.
In applications requiring less space, needle roller bearing combination configurations provide a compact solution.
Due to the large number of rolling elements, the needle roller bearing combination configuration has a high load-bearing capacity.
